Artist John Kobuki does a wonderful job explaining the process of making a white flower compression marble in a class taught at the corning glass studio. The corning studio demonstrations series is a great resource for artists looking to learn new techniques and processes. Loren Stump is one of the most well known and talented living murrini artists and his work brings a next level of depth and detail to the world of glass imagery. A large number of the artists making contemporary murrini have taken a class of his to learn how to advance their murrini specific skills. This tutorial is a great explanation of the level of thought and preparation that goes into making detailed Franchini style (component based) murrini images. Here is a great demonstration of a reticello technique through the eyes of the talented artist Patrick Lee. His stringer control is amazing for laying these long stringers and the diligence results in an amazingly crisp finished product! This artist had the very creative idea to recreate glass sculptures of deadly human viruses and the results are beautiful. He did a series named "Glass Micro Biology" including viruses such as E.Coli, HIV, Swine Flu etc. Mr. Vee Lamb is a very talented artist and he does a very nice demonstration of making a large vortex marble with a honeycomb backing in this tutorial video. This video is a great summary of the urgent need for master glassblowers in the scientific world as they are a key part of making equipment required for most scientific experiments. This is a great instructional demo on making a boro spinning tops by the very talented and experienced Suellen Fowler aka. The Queen of Colour. Suellen does a fantastic job explaining her process and is an amazing person to learn from the art from. Simple yet beautiful, Enjoy! |
